Sustainability statement

Moving image catering Ltd aims to apply sustainability to all areas of the company, from planning menus, using suppliers with a good sustainability track record, to sourcing local produce as much as possible.

We aim to wherever possible:

  • Use products that have been made in an environmentally and socially responsible way (biodegradable and compostable disposals)

  • Use suppliers who source ethical products, and who try to limit their environmental impact

  • Analyse food wastage on a regular basis to minimise over ordering and unnecessary purchases

  • Train staff in the purchasing of certain products that are better for the environment. 

  • To ensure that all staff have sufficient training in menu planning, sourcing locally, and using seasonal produce as much as possible

  • Reduce the amount of meat products (mainly beef and lamb) and use more plant based ingredients

  • Keep our deliveries to a minimum. Wherever possible we aim to order from our suppliers to deliver to us twice a week. This way we are helping to reduce the carbon emissions from our suppliers.

  • Reduce the amount of PVC and plastic that we use by ensuring not to receive any products that use PVC or plastic

  • Only use suppliers who have a sustainable sourcing objective when it comes to products containing palm oil, soya, plastics. Who only supplies sustainable fish, and who uses ethical trading. 

  • Work with suppliers to reduce packaging, and use reusable packaging where possible

  • Work with the waste management team in regards to recycling, food waste, water management
