Sustainability statement
Moving image catering Ltd aims to apply sustainability to all areas of the company, from planning menus, using suppliers with a good sustainability track record, to sourcing local produce as much as possible.
We aim to wherever possible:
Use products that have been made in an environmentally and socially responsible way (biodegradable and compostable disposals)
Use suppliers who source ethical products, and who try to limit their environmental impact
Analyse food wastage on a regular basis to minimise over ordering and unnecessary purchases
Train staff in the purchasing of certain products that are better for the environment.
To ensure that all staff have sufficient training in menu planning, sourcing locally, and using seasonal produce as much as possible
Reduce the amount of meat products (mainly beef and lamb) and use more plant based ingredients
Keep our deliveries to a minimum. Wherever possible we aim to order from our suppliers to deliver to us twice a week. This way we are helping to reduce the carbon emissions from our suppliers.
Reduce the amount of PVC and plastic that we use by ensuring not to receive any products that use PVC or plastic
Only use suppliers who have a sustainable sourcing objective when it comes to products containing palm oil, soya, plastics. Who only supplies sustainable fish, and who uses ethical trading.
Work with suppliers to reduce packaging, and use reusable packaging where possible
Work with the waste management team in regards to recycling, food waste, water management
